Fifteen seasons tracking leopard in Yala and elephant in Udawalawe have given Nuwan an ear for the alarm calls that give a cat away long before it steps onto the track. He reads the park the way other people read a street map, and he would rather wait an hour in the right place than drive for three in the wrong one.
